Description
Yay, finally with the upload of this! It's my pride and joy, and one of the final prints for my last project (the other one being The Impossible Bridge.) It looks a lot like this etching:
That's basically because in a tutorial, my tutor saw the etching, liked the composition and thought it would look good as a linocut. I basically do what I'm told. On the other hand, I did work very hard on this (HOURS of cutting the bloody lino) and the teachers were very happy with the way I used colour, composition and all those other things art teachers love.
I did many prints of this, and this is the best one: a nice colour combination, not too much ink or too little, and even though it's not registered properly (i.e. the two coloured layers are not properly lined up- I did not get this right on ANY of them. I suck. ), it looks good despite this. Sorry about the wonkiness though- I did my best to make it look as OK as I good, but unfortuntely due to my bad registering, the print is not actually a perfect rectangle. Also, sorry about the damn grey border.
Comments and critique very welcome, as always! Your comments make me happy. A description of how the linocut process works can be found in the description for this deviation: [link]
Media used: lino, oil based ink
Time taken: about 3 days in total marking out and cutting the lino, 2 days printing (not in a row, allowing for ink drying times)

I love this media of art, and wish I saw more in the art world and less commercial. This is lovely.
